2012 Wooden Dolly Chardonnay

Tasting Notes

Tropical fruit and spice are prominent on the nose with impressions of pineapple, guava, and mango along with cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. The pallet further displays these ripe, warm weather fruits with additional flavors of preserved lemons and caramel apple, all held in place by refreshing acidity and minerality that gives the wine focus and backbone. The buttery characteristic and round texture shows well integrated oak, an effect of extended barrel fermentation that results in an underlying richness of texture. This bottling will have broad appeal to lovers of opulent, modern wine making as well as appreciators of classical style and finesse.
