2014 Sugarloaf Syrah

Tasting Notes

Blackberry and blueberry mingle with aromas of vanilla, baking spice, and lavender garni along with subtler underpinnings of tanned leather and earth. Flavors of tart boysenberry and blackberry jam follow on the palate with savory black pepper notes, cacao nibs, and crushed minerals. Prominent acid and fine tannins lend a food readiness and freshness to this wine which maintains a light-medium mouthfeel and transitions into a long finish. This vintage is a great example of vineyard site terroir and will benefit from a long decant.
