2016 Sugarloaf Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes
Spicy cassis and candied red and black cherries proliferate on the nose mingling with sweet wood, underbrush, wet stone, leather, and floral aromas. Juicy red and black fruit show great freshness, bright acid, and grippy tannins, which give balance to an opulent fruit profile and pallet coating richness. While still lively and youthful at seven years in bottle, this wine is beginning to develop some earthy forest floor, tanned leather, and tobacco box type secondary notes which are iconic of age-worthy cabernet. This cuvee is in a fantastic drinking window currently but should age gracefully for another ten plus years with proper storage
